Director Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Bheed’ seems to be struggling at the box office. The film, which shows the struggles of migrant workers after a nationwide lockdown was imposed during the first wave of COVID-19, barely managed to attract any audience on its opening day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Bheed' earned Rs 15 lakh on its first day. The film has got mixed reviews and lags behind filmmaker’s previous release.
‘Bheed’ also got into controversy after the release of its first trailer. The audience didn’t like the comparison between the mass immigration that took place during the COVID-19 lockdown and during the 1947 partition. Because of strict censorship, T-Series also distanced itself from the film.
‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, ’ that released on March 8, is doing well at the box office. According to reports, Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor starrer earned Rs 3.39 cr on its 18th day. Its total collection has now come up to Rs 125 cr approximately.
