Bhumi Pednekar, known for her environmental activism, is among five Indians recognized by the World Economic Forum's Global Leaders Community: The Class of 2024.
The forum recently revealed its list of nearly 90 under-40 changemakers shaping the future and driving positive change in public health, economic development, technology, and sustainability.
The World Economic Forum stated that the 2024 list comprises an exceptional group of emerging leaders from politics, business, civil society, the arts, and academia. Alongside Pednekar, the list includes Adwaita Nayar, CEO of Nykaa Fashion; Arjun Bhartia, Director at Jubilant Group; Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director at Vedanta Limited; and Sharad Vivek Sagar, Founder and CEO of Dexterity Global.
Pednekar, known for her roles in acclaimed films like ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha,’ ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,’ ‘Bala,’ ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan,’ and ‘Badhaai Do,’ expressed her excitement at being part of the 2024 Class of Young Global Leaders.

According to the World Economic Forum, for the last twenty years, the Forum of Young Global Leaders has been leading the way in fostering a distinctive community of leaders committed to addressing the world's most urgent challenges head-on.
