Renowned pop singer Justin Timberlake was recently arrested for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, a prominent Hamptons village on Long Island. The incident occurred late on June 18 after police pulled over Timberlake's BMW for traffic violations, including failure to stop at a signboard and maintaining lane discipline.

A day later, Timberlake's ex-girlfriend Britney Spears has shared a cryptic message on social media. Sharing a photo of a drink with flowers, Spears captioned it with, ‘It’s the little things you know !!!’

Fans speculate the post has a possible connection to Timberlake’s legal troubles.

After his release, a source informed People Magazine that Justin appeared to be 'a bit upset,' noting that his wife Jessica Biel was not with him during that time.

More about the case

Reports indicated Timberlake had 'bloodshot and glassy eyes,' with the smell of alcohol in his breath, leading to his arrest.

The singer was photographed, leaving the premises without bail. Timberlake's legal defense, led by prominent Hamptons attorney Edward Burke Jr., expressed readiness to contest the charges.

Burke, known for representing high-profile clients, emphasised, ‘He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the district attorney’s office.’

Timberlake had been dining with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, where police were stationed, observing his departure, reported Page Six.

Timberlake failed sobriety tests and reportedly refused a breathalyzer. He stated. ‘I had one martini, and I followed my friends home.’

Insiders claimed that the arresting officer failed to recognise Justin. Another witness pointed out that the 43-year-old behaved like a ‘gentleman’ when pulled over and did not ‘show any entitlement at all.’

Timberlake, aged 43, is scheduled for a court hearing on July 26, where his presence is not required. Images of the singer in custody, escorted by police went viral on social media after his release.
