Actor Pankaj Tripathi's brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari, passed away in a car accident in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on April 20 and his sister is currently being treated in a hospital after suffering multiple injuries.
Rajesh and his wife Sabita were traveling from Gopalganj to Kolkata when the accident occurred on NH-19.
Now, CCTV footage of the accident has surfaced online which shows the car ramming into a road divider in the middle of a busy street.
Rakesh Tiwari, Pankaj Tripathi's brother-in-law, was allegedly driving the car during the accident. Police report that he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a divider on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2.
Pankaj has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
The tragic incident occurred less than a year after the actor's father passed away. In August 2023, Pankaj's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, died at the age of 99 in their village of Gopalganj. Pankaj was visibly mourning his father's death at that time.

Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in the Netflix film ‘Murder Mubarak’ as ACP Bhavani Singh. The mystery thriller film, based on the novel Club You To Death, also starred Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Suhail Nayyar and Tara Alisha Berry. It was directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
Pankaj Tripathi’s upcoming projects include ‘Stree 2’, ‘Rudra’ and ‘Metro In Dino’.
