After stunning audiences with his portrayal of Sam Manekshaw in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur,’ Vicky Kaushal is preparing to impress fans with his role as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the upcoming period epic ‘Chhaava.’
Although the film is still in production, leaked on-set images of Vicky as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj have surfaced online, garnering admiration from social media users.
Images from the second schedule of ‘Chhaava’ have surfaced on X, showing Vicky with a long beard and hair tied in a Shiva-like bun. He wears a beige sleeveless jacket, light brown dhoti, and traditional accessories, exuding determination in a rustic setting.
Laxman Utekar's ‘Chhaava,’ a historical drama about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, features Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in their first collaboration. Vicky portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika plays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. Rashmika recently completed shooting her part and praised the team, particularly director Laxman Utekar, for his calm and poise on set.
Rashmika wrote, ‘@laxman.utekar sir... I just wonder how can a man handle such a big set with at least 1500 working people with such calm and poise.’
‘Sir you have seen me as Yesubai when no one in the world could've even thought about this and I truly wonder how, and not just me. The whole country will wonder how.. but watching those visuals make me tear up.. you've gotten a performance out of me that I am excited for the world to watch,’ she added.
Rashmika Mandanna, addressing Vicky Kaushal as Maharaj, expressed her joy in sharing the screen with him. She praised his warmth and kindness, joking about his teasing on the last day of filming. Rashmika conveyed her mother's regards and wished Vicky the best.
The film ‘Chhaava,’ produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, is set to release on December 6.
Apart from ‘Chhaava,’ Vicky will appear in ‘Bad Newz’ and ‘Love & War,’ while Rashmika will feature in Telugu films ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ ‘Rainbow,’ and ‘The Girlfriend.’
