Karan Johar's forthcoming film 'Jugjugg Jeeyo,' starring Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani, has landed in a legal trouble. After a Ranchi-based writer sued the makers for an alleged copyright infringement,  a commercial Ranchi court has ordered the screening of the film ahead of its release on June 24.
A writer named Vishal A Singh claimed that he mailed the extracts of his script titled ‘Bunny Rani’ to Dharma Productions. While he did receive a reply from the production house, Singh claimed that his script was turned into a film by Dharma, namely ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’.
According to E times reports, after the court screening, judge M C Jha will continue with the arguments and decide whether the film violates the Copyright Act or not. Karan Johar and his Dharma Movies team hasn't responded in the matter yet.
‘JugJugg Jeeyo,’ directed by Raj Mehta also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Kohli in pivotal roles.
