‘De De Pyaar De 2’: Ajay Devgn to clash with Anil Kapoor in Luv Ranjan’s sequel; says report

The anticipation for ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ has been high ever since its announcement. Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are set to reunite for the sequel, and there are reports that Anil Kapoor will also play a significant role in the Luv Ranjan directorial. 

A source told Pinkvilla, ‘Anil was bowled over by the concept of DDPD 2, and it was an instant yes from him. The humour quotient in De De Pyaar De 2 is said to be a level above the prequel, with an interesting dynamic between Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.’

The source further added, ‘The tussle between Kapoor’s character and Ajay Devgn is the standout feature of De De Pyaar De 2. It’s a dynamic that got both excited, as they have never shared an on-screen equation like this before. The sequel follows Ajay and Rakul’s comedic escapades as they strive to win over Rakul’s family.’ 

The report suggests that Anil Kapoor is likely to portray Rakul's on-screen father.

‘De De Pyaar De 2’ is all set to release on May 1, 2025. 

Taking to their Instagram handle, Luv Films and T Series official wrote, ‘De De Pyaar De 2 will release on 1st May 2025. The film is directed by @anshul3112, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan & @gargankur82 and written by @tarun.j.85 & Luv Ranjan.’ 

About ‘De De Pyaar De’

Tabu also starred in the lead role in ‘De De Pyaar De 1.’ The story revolves around Ashish, a 50-year-old divorcee played by Ajay, who falls for Ayesha, a 26-year-old played by Rakul. Tabu portrays Ajay's ex-wife in the film. The story explores the challenges and backlash Ashish faces for being in a relationship with someone the age of his children.
