For over a month, there have been numerous reports circulating about the sequel to the 2011 film ‘Desi Boyzz,’ starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. While some rumours suggest that the script for the forthcoming film is close to being finalized, others indicate that Akshay Kumar and John Abraham will not be reprising their roles, and a completely new cast will take over.
An exclusive source has revealed that the new cast for ‘Desi Boyzz 2’ is still in the process of being finalised, and their selection will be confirmed once the scripting is completed. However, it has been confirmed that the original stars, John and Akshay, will not be returning for the sequel.
‘There are talks about approaching Varun Dhawan and Tiger Shroff for the lead roles. The story of part two will be completely different and with new actors, just the title remains the same,’ a source told Hindustan Times. The source also shared information about the leading ladies of the Lakshya Raj Anand directorial.
‘Ananya Panday might be approached as Varun’s romantic partner, but the second actress’ name is still being contemplated and there are no specific names in mind for that,’ the source added.
Varun, Tiger and Ananya’s work front
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is actively involved in the shooting of his upcoming film, produced by Atlee, tentatively titled ‘Baby John.’ He has also participated in the filming of the Indian spin-off of ‘Citadel’ alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
There are also reports that Varun has been approached for ‘No Entry 2’. Regarding the sequel, director Anees Bazmee and producer Boney Kapoor have engaged in multiple meetings with Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh over the past six months. All three actors express equal enthusiasm for this project, anticipating that the sequel will surpass the comedic excellence of its predecessor, according to reports.
Tiger Shroff's latest appearance was in ‘Ganapath’ with Kriti Sanon, while Ananya Panday garnered widespread appreciation for her performance in ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,’ her most recent project.
