Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth announced their separation in January earlier this year. However, rumours about their possible reconciliation have been doing the rounds over the last few days. There seems there is little truth to such speculations. Dhanush’s father, veteran director Kasthuri Raja, reacted to the rumours during an interview on YouTube channel of Tamil-language weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan.

Kasthuri was questioned reports of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa’s alleged patch-up, to which he said that he never interfered with his children’s personal life, and he’s unaware about reconciliation between Dhanush and Aishwaryaa.

He further said, ‘My wife and I can live a good life even without the support of our children. The only expectation we have is for them to be happy. Nothing else. And anything that hampers their happiness is also a problem for us. We are happy when they are happy.’

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa issued a statement online in January this year, informing everyone that they had decided to part ways after 18 years of marriage.

‘18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well wishers to each other The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting.. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this (sic),’ confirmed the couple.

The couple was recently spotted together at their son Yathra’s school event. A picture of the couple posing with friends and family had gone viral on the Internet.
