Ahead of the release of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, Diljit Dosanjh has shared a fun behind the scenes video from the sets of his upcoming film. The video features Diljit with Parineeti enjoying a funny banter.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh shared a video from the sets of their film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. Diljit dressed as his character in the film, sings a Punjabi song while Parineeti dances around. Diljit then informs that it is Parineeti’s last day on the set. Punjabi singer then dedicates a song to his co-star. In his caption, Diljit wrote, “Amarjot Ch Rihanna Aa Gai C.”
The two actors were recently seen at the trailer launch event of their film. Diljit broke down into tears when his director Imtiaz Ali praised the actor. The director said that Dosanjh didn't have that superstar air around him and was completely immersed in the character. The director further added that it's just the beginning for Diljit, making the Punjabi singer burst into tears. As Diljit moved to tears, his co-star Parineeti was seen consoling him.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of 1980s Punjab, 'Amar Singh Chamkila' dives deep into the life of Chamkila, who rose from obscurity to become the "highest record-selling artiste" of Punjab.
In an interview with indianexpress.com, Imtiaz Ali said that the film is a love story between Chamkila and his music album. He said, “I feel that this film or Chamkila's life in a way is a love story between Chamkila and music. Here is a man who was so scared at some point of time about the warnings that he got, that he actually broke down and cried and he was scared that he would be killed. From that point, a few years later, knowing fully well that if he continued to sing in live performances, he might be gunned down, he still chose to sing."
