'Drishyam 2', starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran, is doing wonders at the box office. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film earned a whopping amount of ₹ 39.24 crores this weekend at the domestic box office. As per a Hindustan Times report, the film crossed the ₹ 200-crore mark worldwide on Sunday. According to these box office numbers, the film will soon be surpassing the lifetime collection of Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' which earned ₹211 crores at the ticket booth.
This means it is already among the top 5 highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, 'BOXOFFICE BACK WITH BANG… Weekend #BO is smiling once again… Look at the *combined* WEEKEND biz of #Drishyam2 [₹ 39.24 cr] and #Bhediya [₹ 28.55 cr]: A WHOPPING ₹ 67.79 cr… Non-holiday period… #Avatar and #Cirkus will further boost biz… Plus, there’s #Pathaan in Jan 2023.'
'Drishyam 2', which was released on November 18, also stars Akshaye Khanna, and Ishita Dutta among others. It is the sequel to the 2015 hit film 'Drishyam' and also a remake of Mohanlal’s 2021 Malayalam film with the same name.
