Dussehra 2022: Bollywood always celebrates Indian festivals with full of zeal, and many movies have depicted Dussehra time and again. So, as the country is celebrating the auspicious day of victory of good over evil, let's take a look at some of the movies that have incorporated this festival in their storytelling.
'Kalank' (2019)
Abhishek Verma’s ‘Kalank’ may have failed to impress the audience, but the film definitely had some spectacular scenes. The sequence in which Alia Bhatt’s character Roop meets Varun Dhawan’s character Zafar for the first time, is set against the backdrop of Dussehra celebrations. The background features a burning Raavan effigy.
‘Marjaavaan’ (2019)
Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, this romantic-action film stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria, and Rakul Preet Singh. The climax scene of the film featuring Sidharth and Riteish is filmed during the Dussehra celebrations.
‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ (2015)
The song ‘Tu Chahiya’ from Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor's starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is set around the theme of Dusshera and Ram Leela. The film is directed by Kabir Khan.
‘Ra.One’ (2011)
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor, this film is a modern depiction of Ramayana- the victory of good over evil. The Anubhav Sinha directorial shows the antagonist played by Arjun Rampal walking against the backdrop of Raavan’s burning statue.
‘Swades’ (2004)
‘Swades’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has a song named ‘Pal Pal hai Bhaari’ that has been picturised on the theme of Dussehra. Actor Gayatri can be seen dressing up as Sita and enacting the scene in the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial.
