It’s only the third month of 2024 and we have probably seen it all! Ed Sheeran performed in Mumbai last evening and called on Diljit Dosanjh to join him on stage. If this wasn’t enough to excite someone, the ‘Shape of You’ singer sang in Punjabi. Yes! For the first time ever, the British singer tried to sing in Punjabi with Diljit.
It was the madness of a multiverse in real as the audience witnessed two of the most amazing performers on one stage and perform the most loved Punjabi tracks together. Ed Sheeran and Diljit were generous enough to not deprive the fans who were not in the audience of this magical moment. Both the singers shared a glimpse of the best thing that happened last evening. Sharing the video of Diljit taking over the stage, Ed Sheeran wrote, “Got to bring out @diljitdosanjh tonight in Mumbai and sing in Punjabi for the first time. I’ve had such an incredible time in India, more to come!”
Not to mention, social media as in a complete meltdown with fans thronging the comment section. To give an idea how the comment section looked like, Munawar Faruqui wrote, “Whaaaatttt🔥 not crying! Not crying.” Sahil Bulla wrote, “I was standing in the audience shrieking like a fan girl. Ed Sheeran's Mumbai concert was part of his Asia and Europe tour. The iconic concert was attended by several Bollywood celebrities. Farah Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Madhuri Dixit, Mira Rajput, Orry and Sophie Choudry were among the celebs spotted at the venue.
Earlier on Friday, filmmaker Farah Khan hosted a lavish party for the British singer in Mumbai which was attended by several top A-listers of Bollywood including Hrithik Roshan, Aryan Khan Farhan Akhtar and many more. The 'Shape of You' singer also visited a school in Mumbai just after his arrival where he interacted with students and swapped performances with them.
