Singer Neha Kakkar’s latest song ‘O Sajna’, which is a remix of Falguni Pathak’s iconic song ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’, has received a lot of criticism on social media. Now, singer Sona Mohapatra has voiced her opinion on the same. Taking to Twitter, she spoke about ‘music labels and Bollywood film producers killing the creative community’
She added that writers have destroyed the fabric of what made Bollywood music culturally relevant by ‘showcasing of a lack of courage to back new compositions, songwriters, and disrespecting creators.’
Post the release of Neha Kakkar’s ‘O Sajna', Falguni reshared angry fans' posts on her Instagram Stories. In a recent interview with Delhi Times, the singer also mentioned that she ‘almost puked’ when she first heard the remake and stated that the original song's innocence has been ruined.
Neha Kakkar had also addressed the backlash through social media posts.
However, despite the ongoing war of words between the singers, Sony TV released a promo clip from the upcoming episode of the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol season 13’. In the video, Neha welcomed ‘legendary Falguni ma’am' on the show. The duo will be sharing the stage during the garba night on the show.
