Ranveer Singh took home the Best Actor award for his performance in Kabir Khan’s ‘83’ at the Filmfare Awards on Tuesday night. The actor, who portrayed the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in the film, took to Instagram on Wednesday and dedicated his award to ‘Kapil's Devils’ - the 1983 squad won the country's first World Cup, defeating West Indies.
Sharing a picture with the Filmfare trophy, he wrote, ‘What else we here for? Best Actor Filmfare. The Black Lady... Dedicated to 'Kapil's Devils.’
The comment section of his post was filled with congratulatory messages.
Deepika Padukone also took to Instagram to congratulate her husband and wrote that he’s simply the best. Better than all the rest.’ Ranveer was quick to react to her post and he commented ‘Oh Baby’ with loved-up emojis.

Ranveer will next be seen in 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' co-starring with Alia Bhatt. The Karan Johar directorial also features Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, and Dharmendra in pivotal roles.
