South Indian cinema has mastered the art of making pan-India movies and the industry delivers several popular films every year. However, it is not just the films that have caught our attention but also the South actors. They are now bagging lucrative roles in big banner Bollywood films and shows. Similarly, Bollywood stars are also being cast in films down South such as Alia Bhatt in 'RRR' and Deepika Padukone in 'Project K' alongside Prabhas.
Here's a look at some of the big names from South who are on their way to make it big in the Hindi industry.
The actor mesmerised the audience with her performance in 'Pushpa: The Rise' and made the entire nation dance on the hit number 'Saami Saami'. Rashmika Mandanna is now all set to make her Bollywood debut with the spy thriller 'Mission Majnu', co-starring Siddharth Malhotra. She will also feature in 'Goodbye', along with Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor.
She made her acting debut with John Abraham starrer 'Madras Cafe' in 2013. Raashii then went to the South and delivered several hits in Telugu and Tamil. She is now preparing to make her Bollywood comeback with 'Yodha' co-starring Sidharth Malhotra. The actor will also star opposite Shahid Kapoor in web series 'Farzi'. Raashii recently featured in Ajay Devgn's crime TV series 'Rudra: The Edge of Darkness'.
After ruling in the Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam industry, Nayanthara is now headed to Bollywood. She will be making her debut with 'Jawan', opposite the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan.
Pooja Hegde made her Bollywood debut with 'Mohenjo Daro' (2016) opposite Hrithik Roshan. However, the Ashutosh Gowariker-directorial failed at the box office. After making her place in the Telugu industry, she returned to Bollywood with 'Housefull' in 2019. Last seen in 'Radhe Shyam' opposite Prabhas, Pooja is now once again focusing on some coveted Bollywood films. She has 'Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali' with Salman Khan and Rohit Shetty’s 'Circus' with Ranveer Singh in her kitty.
The dance number from 'Pushpa: The Rise', 'Oo Antava Oo Oo' featuring Samantha, created a sensation across the nation. The actor has already arrived in the Hindi industry with web series 'Family Man' season 2. She also made her debut on Karan Johar's popular chat show 'Koffee With Karan' this season. As per a recent Peepingmoon report, Samantha has signed her debut Hindi film opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
