‘Raksha Bandhan’ (2022)
Starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, the comedy-drama revolves around a brother who wishes to get his four sisters married before tying the knot with his childhood love. It highlights the unbreakable bond between the siblings and addresses the issue of dowry.
Sarbjit (2016)
Directed by Omung Kumar, the biographical drama is based on the life of farmer Sarbjit, residing at Bhikiwind, Punjab, near the Indo-Pak border. Randeep Hooda played the titular role. Sarbjit was mistaken to be an Indian spy and was sentenced to capital punishment by the Pakistani Government. His sister, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, fought for her brother’s release.
Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)
Zoya Akhtar’s directorial featured Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra (Ayesha and Kabir) as siblings. It narrates the story of a wealthy and dysfunctional family that faces ugly truths while hosting a shipboard vacation for relatives and friends.
Bumm Bumm Bole (2010)
The film, directed by Priyadarshan, features Darsheel Safary, Atul Kulkarni, Rituparna Sengupta, and Ziyah Vastani. It details the story of two siblings who decide to share a pair of shoes till their father can afford to purchase another. However, things are uncertain as their father is suspected of criminal offenses and unable to find a job.
Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999)
The family drama directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya is woven around the love in the family. The film highlights the immense respect and selfless love siblings have for each other. It starred Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Karisma Kapoor, and Sonali Bendre.
