From ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ to 'Tubelight': 5 times Shah Rukh Khan stole the show with his cameos

Shah Rukh Khan has been ruling the hearts of millions with his stellar performances and enchanting personality. Along with playing the lead character, SRK has also been making cameos in movies and surprising his fans. King Khan was last seen in a cameo role in Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. Here are some of Shah Rukh Khan’s most popular cameos that had a 'king size' impact in the films.

‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ (2022)

Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo as a journalist in R Madhavan’s directorial debut, which is based on the life of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. He is seen interviewing Nambi, a space scientist and aerospace engineer, played by Madhavan. His cameo is part of the English and Hindi versions, while actor Suriya portrays the same role in the Tamil version.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016)

Shah Rukh Khan made an entry as Tahir Taliyar Khan in the Karan Johar directorial. He portrayed the role of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-husband and his cameo left everyone in awe. Shahrukh Khan's conversation with Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya’s love interest, in the film was one of the major highlights. His interpretation of ‘ek tarfa pyaar’ struck a chord with all the lovers.

‘Ek tarfa pyar ki taqat hi kuch aur hoti hai, auron ke rishton ki tarah yeh do logon mein nahi bant ti, sirf mera haq hai ispe,’ SRK told Ranbir.

‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ also starred Anushka Sharma.

Tubelight (2017)

SRK portrayed the role of magician Goga Pasha in the Salman Khan starrer and left us spellbound. The film, which was set against the backdrop of 1962 Sino-Indian war, saw Salman and Shah Rukh reunite onscreen after a gap of 15 years. They earlier co-starred in the 2002 movie ‘Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam’. The duo also worked together in films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Karan Arjun’.

During the film's promotional event, Salman told news agency IANS that it took just a phone call to persuade Shah Rukh Khan to make a special appearance in the Kabir Khan directorial.

Kaal (2005)

King Khan featured in the title song of ‘Kaal’ along with Malaika Arora and made the audience groove like never before. The song had topped the charts for a long time. The film, which was directed by Sohan Shah and produced by Karan Johar, starred Ajay Devgn, Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham, Esha Deol and Lara Dutta in lead roles.

‘Heyy Baby’ (2007)

Shah Rukh Khan made a stunning cameo appearance as Raj Malhotra in Sajid Khan’s directorial debut. He featured in the song ‘Mast Kalandar’ and his energy made everyone’s heart skip a beat.  The comedy drama starred Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan and Vidya Balan in the lead roles.
