‘Fukrey 3’, starring Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, and Pankaj Tripathi, has had a great start at the box office. The film minted Rs 8.82 crore on its opening day, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Sharing the box office figures, Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘Fukrey3 fares well on Day 1… Evening / night shows perform better… Biz in #Maharashtra affected due to #GanpatiVisarjan… Needs to witness substantial growth from Fri - Mon for a strong, impressive total… Thu ₹ 8.82 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice’

‘Fukrey 3’ clashed at the box office with Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Vaccine War’, which only managed to make Rs 1.3 crore on its opening day.

‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which was released on September 7, is still going strong at the box office. With a three day ‘buy 1 get 1’ offer, Jawan made Rs 5.50 crore on its 22nd day, taking the film’s nett domestic collection to Rs 581.43 crore.

At the trailer launch of the film, producer Ritesh Sidhwani spoke about the trend of sequels working at the box office and said that there have been many franchises that have not sustained the momentum.

‘I know sequels which have not worked also. I am not going to name them. It works if the characters are great and there is enough love for the film for people to consume it. You should continue to make the film if you feel that the story is organically and seamlessly moving forward because there is already a fanbase for the film, but you have to deliver,’ he said.

‘Fukrey 3’ is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who has previously helmed the first two parts of the franchise. The movie hit the theatres on September 28.
