‘Gadar 2’ box office day 3: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's film dominates theatres; earns ₹135 cr

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ has entered the ₹100 crore club in India. According to Sacnilk.com, the period action drama earned over ₹50 crore at the box office on day three of its release.

The Anil Sharma directorial minted ₹40.1 crore on day one and ₹43.08 crore on day two. The total collection of the film at the domestic box office now stands at ₹135.18 crore.

‘Gadar 2’ was released in theatres on August 11 along with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’. It also faces competition at the box office from Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ and Rajinikanth starrer ‘Jailer’.

Sunny reprises his iconic character of Tara Singh in ‘Gadar 2’while Ameesha Patel returned as ‘Sakeena’.

Produced by Zee Studios, the movie also features Ukarsh Sharma as Charanjeet.

Set in 1971, ‘Gadar 2’ follows Tara Singh's journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh from the Pakistani Army. The movie is the sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was also helmed by Anil Sharma.

Meanwhile, a video has surfaced online which shows villagers in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district arriving at a movie theatre on their tractors. Before arriving at the theatre, the villagers had taken out a tractor rally from the main marketplace of Bhilwara.
