Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one of the world’s most gorgeous women. She was crowned Miss World in 1994 after which she made her way into the film industry. She made her acting debut in 1997 with Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film ‘Iruvar’ and marked her Hindi debut with ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’.


Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has an impressive career graph as a model as well as an actor.

Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022)
The Mani Ratnam directorial marked the comeback of Aishwarya in a South film after 12-long-years. Her last Kollywood outing was in 2010 with S Shankar’s ‘Enthiran’ opposite superstar Rajinikanth.
Ponniyin Selvan: I is a historical drama based on the Chola Empire. It shows a period of conspiracies, mysteries, political turmoil and impending war as Pandiya rebels take an oath to spill royal blood and Chola chieftains plan a mutiny.
Aishwarya appeared in a dual role as Nandini and Mandakini Devi.


Sarbjit (2016)
This biographical drama, directed by Omung Kumar, is based on the life of farmer Sarbjit Singh, who resided at Bhikiwind, Punjab, near the Indo-Pak border. Sarbjit was mistaken to be an Indian spy and was sentenced to capital punishment by the Pakistani Government. Randeep Hooda played the titular role, while Aishwarya played the role of his sister Dalbir, who fought for her brother’s release.


Jodha Akbar (2008)
The Ashutosh Gowariker-directorial stars Aishwarya as Jodhaa, a fiery Rajput princess, who is obliged to marry Mughal Emperor Akbar for political reasons. The mutual respect and admiration between the couple eventually becomes true love.


Devdas (2002)
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit, the film is about Devdas who returns to India after studying in London for 10 years. He wants to marry his childhood best friend Paro but his parents do not agree as they believe Paro’s family descends from a line of dancers, a lower class than theirs. Paro then marries another man, following which disappointed Devdas becomes an alcoholic and ruins his life.


Taal (1999)
The Subhash Ghai directorial starred Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Amrish Puri, Akshaye Khanna, and Alok Nath in lead roles. Mansi, played by Aishwarya, becomes a famous actor with music producer and director Vikrant Kapoor's help after her former boyfriend's family members insult her and her father. Life takes an unexpected turn after her ex-lover tries to win her back and aplogises.
