Luka Chuppi (2019)
The Laxman Utekar directorial starred Kartik Aaryan as Guddu, a reporter, who falls in love with Rashmi, played by Kriti Sanon. The duo falls in love and starts a live-in relationship. Aparshakti portrayed the role of Abbas Sheikh, the cameraman cum best friend of Guddu.
Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019)
Starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday, the film shows how Chintu Tyagi, an ordinary, middle-class man, finds himself torn between his wife and another woman. Aparshakti starred as Fahim Rizvi, Chintu’s best friend in the Mudassar Aziz directorial.
Stree (2018)
This horror-comedy, directed by Amar Kaushik, shows how a small town is constantly reeling under the fear of an eccentric female spirit who attacks men. A young tailor Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao, tries to unravel the mystery along with his friends. Aparshakti gained praise for playing the role of Bittu, Vicky’s friend. He also earned a nomination at the Filmfare Awards in the Best Supporting Actor category.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer is a story of Badrinath Bansal, a wealthy man’s son, and Vaidehi Trivedi whom he meets at a wedding. While Badri wants to marry her, she wishes to pursue her dream of becoming an air hostess.
Aparshakti played the role of Bhushan Mishra, Alia’s on-screen brother-in-law. The film was a box office success and earned over ₹ 200 crores worldwide.
Dangal (2016)
Starring Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, this biographical drama marks Aparshakti’s Bollywood debut. He played the role of Omkar Singh Phogat, the nephew of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Aparshakti’s comic timing and screen presence impressed the audience and earned him the Star Screen Award for the most promising newcomer. He was also nominated at the Filmfare Awards 2016.
‘Dangal’ was a huge box office success and eventually, it became the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.
