Rekha birthday : Rekha is one of the most iconic and versatile actors of Bollywood. She started her acting career at the age of 14 with  'Anjana Safar' (an adaption of H. Rider Haggard's 1885 novel King Solomon's Mines). Soon, she established her place in the industry and emerged as one of the most successful actor. She has acted in over 170 movies.

'Ghar' (1978)

The film, directed by Manik Chatterjee, stars Vinod Mehra and Rekha in lead roles. The film revolves around a young married couple who are coping with the aftermath of rape. Rekha’s performance in the film was widely appreciated. The film was also remade in Tamil and Malayalam.

'Do Anjane' (1976)

The Dulal Guha-directorial, stars  Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha in the lead roles. The thriller narrates the story of a man who has no memory of who he is and doesn't remember anything about his life  Later, he regains memory after a series of incidents.

'Silsila' (1981)

The film, directed by Yash Chopra, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha in the lead roles. The film shows a love triangle between the lead actors. The songs and the chemistry between Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha is remembered by everyone till date.

'Jeevan Dhara' (1982)

'Jeevan Dhaara', directed by Tatineni Rama Rao, starred Rekha, Raj Babbar, Amol Palekar and Rakesh Roshan in lead roles. It is considered as one of Rekha's best work. She played the role of a woman who sacrifices her own happiness and freedom to look after her family.

'Khoon Bhari Maang' (1988)

The revenge drama, directed by Rakesh Roshan, starred Rekha, Kabir Bedi, Shatrughan Sinha, Rakesh Roshan, and Sonu Walia. She played the character of a loving wife, Aarti. She is betrayed by her husband who tries to kill her. She later returns as Jyoti to take revenge from her husband and his lover.
