Did you know his other name is Shahid Khattar?

According to a TOI report, Shahid uses the surname Khattar on his passport. The surname belongs to actor Rajesh Khattar, Ishaan Khattar’s father and Shahid’s mother Neelima Azeem’s former husband.

Started his career as a background dancer  

Before joining Bollywood, Shahid was a part of Shiamak Davar’s dance group. He was significantly seen as a background dancer in films ‘Taal’ and ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’.  

First Indian actor to fly the American F-16 aircraft  

Shahid’s 2011 film ‘Mausam’ didn’t fare too well at the box office, but it was a significant movie in his career as he learnt how to fly real aircrafts for his role in the movie. According to Hindustan Times, Shahid Kapoor is the first Bollywood actor to fly the American F-16 Super Viper. He underwent training for over a month, before taking his big flight.    

Related to veteran Naseeruddin Shah  

Not many people know that Shahid is related to veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. According to a report in the Times of India, the actor is the step-nephew of Naseeruddin. His step-mother Supriya Pathak is the sister of Ratna Pathak Shah, who is married to Naseeruddin Shah.    

Gave up eating meat after reading a book  

Shahid Kapoor has been a vegetarian for many years now and he turned vegan almost three years back. Wondering what inspired him to give up meat? According to Times of India report, Shahid changed his opinion when he read the book titled ‘Life Is Fair’ by Brian Hines and instantly gave up meat.  

He was rejected 100 times before his debut film  

Shahid Kapoor was reportedly rejected over 100 times before he made his debut in ‘Ishq Vishk’. In an interview, he had further mentioned that there were days when he did not have money to eat food or go to the auditions.
