Sidharth made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s “Student Of The Year” in 2012. The film also marked the debut of actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.
The turning point
The movie Ek Villain was a turning point in Sidharth Malhotra’s Bollywood career. The film was commercially successful at the box-office with earnings of about ₹ 131 crores and was also critically acclaimed. He was then seen in the movie Hasse Toh Phasse opposite Parineeti Chopra in 2014. The movie did fairly well at the box-office.
Sidharth Malhotra also appeared in the comedy-drama film Kapoor & Sons opposite Alia Bhatt, which was appreciated by the critics. Along with it, he shared screen space in the sports-drama movie 'Brothers' with Akshay Kumar, which also did well at the silver screen.
Choices that didn't work
Sidharth Malhotra was a part of a few films which didn’t meet the expectation of his fans. Baar Baar Dekho which released in the year 2016 did not perform well at the box-office and was declared a flop. Jabariya Jodi opposite Parineeti Chopra was also unable to meet crtitics' expectations either.
