Sonam Kapoor, daughter of actor Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, has proved her acting mettle with films like ‘Raanjhanaa’ (2013), ‘Khoobsurat’ (2014), ‘Pad Man’ (2018), ‘Sanju’ (2018), ‘Veere Di Wedding’ (2018) and ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ (2019).
She even received the National Film Award for her performance in the biopic ‘Neerja’ (2016).
Apart from her films, Sonam is known for her strong-style game. She also owns the fashion brand Rheson along with her sister Rhea Kapoor, a film producer and stylist.

Sonam began her career as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the 2005 film ‘Black’, starring Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan. She was later cast in his film ‘Saawariya’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor, but only after losing 40 kilos.
It is reported that Sonam was nearly sacked from the movie after she had a showdown with the director. This is believed to have happened in Karjat on the outskirts of Mumbai when the film was midway into its shooting. However, Bhansali’s sister and Anil Kapoor intervened and sorted everything out.
‘Saawariya’ may not have impressed the audience, but Sonam followed her heart and is now among one of the most bankable actors in the industry.
Sonam Kapoor is known for her outspoken personality and supports raising awareness for breast cancer and LGBTQ rights.
She is married to the businessman Anand Ahuja, with whom she has a son named Vaayu.
