Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel became overnight sensations after making their acting debut with ‘Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai’ in 2000. The Rakesh Roshan directorial emerged as the second-highest-grossing film of that year.

Although 24 years have passed since its release, fans continue to request a sequel.

Recently, Ameesha held an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter, where many users asked her the same question. In one of her replies, she wrote, ‘Well, all I can say with confidence is when the ticket counters are mentally prepared for a 60 crores plus opening, I guess that's 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai 2' for you on screens that day.’

Replying to another fan, the actor added, ‘Like I already said when the industry is ready for havoc again. Means it's KAHO na pyaar hai 2 for you.’

What Hrithik said about ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai 2’

Hrithik once opened up about the sequel in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla and said, ‘I think newcomers should only be cast in the remake as two newcomers were launched with it earlier, in case ever made.’

Rakesh Roshan didn’t want to launch Hrithik with KNPH

In an old interview with Film Companion, Hrithik revealed how his dad was unwilling to launch him with ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’. He shared, ‘I won't name who it was now, but someone told my dad that you should not make this film because of whatever reasons. The person said this should not be the first film. I also at a certain point kind of agreed a little bit.’

This conversation took place during pre-production when only the script was finalized. Hrithik Roshan revealed that, despite feeling demotivated, his father became convinced that this was the kind of film that 'speaks to him' and decided to make it.
