As the G20 dinner invite which described Droupadi Murmu as ‘President of Bharat’ sparked a controversy, actor Jackie Shroff reacted to it during an interaction with news agency ANI.

He said, ‘If Bharat is being called Bharat, it is not a bad thing... Naam badlenge, hum thodi badlenge (we won't change even if the name is changed)’.

‘India is India, India is India, India is India. My name is jackie. Some call me Jockey and some call me Jakey. My name is broken so much, but I will not change,’ he added.

Additionally, the actor has also been invited to the G20 summit dinner.

Besides Jackie Shroff, Amitabh Bachchan, Vivek Agnihotri, Kangana Ranaut and Manoj Joshi have also reacted to this ongoing debate about India’s name change

Big B took to X (formerly Twitter) and said ‘Bharat mata ki jai’.

The G20 Summit is being held in Delhi on September 9 and 10 under India's presidency and several heads of state from across the world, including US President Joe Biden, are attending the event.

On the work front, Jackie Shroff will next be seen in ‘Baap.’
