Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare tied the knot on Wednesday in the presence of their family members and close friends. Her groom, Nupur Shikhare, jogged to the wedding venue in Mumbai, wearing a gym vest and shorts, and proceeded to complete the registration in the same outfit. He later changed into a sherwani, as he posed with Ira and their parents.

On Thursday, Ira took to Instagram stories to repost several congratulatory messages from guests at the wedding, and in one story referenced Nupur’s choice of attire. “He didn’t come on a horse, he ran to the venue, and I placed cute posters along the way,” she wrote, adding a smiley face emoji.

A video from the wedding showed Ira joking that Nupur ‘will take a shower’ after the ceremony after they exchanged vows before the guests. The couple will reportedly host three-day celebrations in Udaipur, followed by a reception in Mumbai. The registration ceremony was attended by their family members, including Ira’s father, Aamir Khan, her mother Reena Dutta, and Aamir’s second ex-wife, Kiran Rao. Also present were Ira’s brother Junaid and half-brother Azad Rao Khan.

The wedding was also reportedly attended by Mukesh and Nita Ambani, while actor Salman Khan hosted the couple’s mehendi ceremony at his house a day before. Ira and Junaid are Aamir’s children from his first marriage to Reena Dutta. She is a mental health advocate who has been vocal about her struggles with depression while Nupur is a fitness trainer.

The couple will host a wedding reception on January 13 that will be attended by many renowned personalities from the film industry.
