Filmmaker Atlee, renowned for his work in Tamil cinema, made his Hindi directorial debut with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ and the action thriller shattered multiple records.

Recently, at an event, he hinted at plans for a sequel to the movie.

When asked if he is working on ‘Jawan 2’, the filmmaker said, ‘I am not sure about it.’ He added, ‘But I will write something, I will surprise. Every film had a chance of coming up with a sequel but I always surprise the audience with more, different content. So, I will come up with something. Let’s see.’

When asked if he will collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan again, the director-producer said, ‘Of course, there is no denial. We will work together. When, how, what, it’s all with Shah Rukh sir.’

Talking about working with SRK and the atmosphere during the shoot, he shared, ‘It was great. He was the most fun person, emotionally driven person to work with and he’s visionary and very punctual. He is very in how a film should be made and he is the Bible of my cinema, for sure.’

Atlee has now collaborated with Varun Dhawan for ‘VD 18’, which he will be co-producing alongside Murad Khetani.

Jawan was made for Shah Rukh Khan

Earlier, Atlee revealed that ‘Jawan’ was made keeping SRK in mind.

He said, ‘Jawan is only made for Shah Rukh Khan. I didn't have a second thought that who is going to do it. But from day 1, the script, the scenes, what I do, how it went; the only person I interacted with was Vijay sir. He is like a brother to me. And we are very serious about what we do in life. So he used to share about his films. I shared what I was doing and all. So he was very advisory and always a backbone to me. We shared a lot of stuff on Jawan, what is happening on Jawan; But it is purely made for Shah Rukh.’

‘Jawan’ also starred Nayathara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles.
