Actor Jacqueline Fernandez, who was named as an accused in Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, has now turned witness in the case along with actor Nora Fatehi, the third supplementary chargesheet filed in the matter has revealed.
Jacqueline recently appeared before Delhi’s Patiala House Court to record her statement and said that ‘her entire life was destroyed’ by Chandrashekhar who ‘duped’ her.
‘Sukesh Chandrashekhar misled me, ruined my career and my livelihood,’ she said in her statement.
As per Times Now report, the ‘Ram Setu’ actor alleged that Sukesh introduced himself as the owner of Sun TV and claimed late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was his aunt. She also admitted to receiving gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar - five luxurious watches, one massage chair, 20 pieces of expensive designer jewellery, 47 pieces of clothing, four expensive Hermes bags and nine paintings.
Actor Nora Fatehi also recorded her statement in the court recently and said that she was invited to attend an event in Chennai hosted by Chandrashekhar’s wife, actor Leena Maria. She was asked to be the chief guest at the event, judge a dance competition and hand out an envelope containing money to disabled children.
Following the event, Chandrashekhar spoke to her over the phone with an ‘international accent’ and offered a car as a ‘thank you token’. She refused as they had already gifted boxes consisting of an iPhone and Gucci bag.
Nora claimed the accused persons kept pestering her with the car, but she instead offered to promote their event free of cost since ‘they were generous’.
In her statement, Nora Fatehi also alleged that Chandrashekhar wanted to finance her ‘entire life, family, career’ in exchange for her ‘to be his girlfriend’.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s lawyer Anant Malik has denied all allegations stating that his client was innocent.
