Filmmaker SS Rajamouli met ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron at the Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles recently, where ‘RRR’ won two awards - Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’.
The highlight of the conversation between the legendary directors was when Cameron told Rajamouli that if he ever wants to work in Hollywood, they should connect.
A clip of their conversation was uploaded on the official Twitter handle of ‘RRR’ on Saturday. In the video, Rajamouli praises Cameron’s work and says that he has seen all his films.
Cameron then praises Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ and the way he used fire and water as metaphors in the film.
Rajamouli tells Cameron that his words are more important to him than any award, and that he cannot believe that Cameron watched the film twice. Finishing his appreciative speech, ‘Titanic’ director whispered in Rajamouli’s ears and told him, ‘If you ever wanna make a movie over here, let’s talk.’
‘RRR’ is expected to grab a few nods when the Oscar nominations are announced on January 24.
