The 'Jawan' promotions have commenced in full swing. An extravagant pre-release event was held in Chennai on August 30 where Vijay Sethupati talked about his co-star Shah Rukh Khan.

He recalled how he was unable to approach a girl as she was infatuated with SRK and it took him these many years to have his revenge.

'When I was in school, I was in love with a girl. But she didn’t know. Every Jaanu has a Ram after all (reference to his 2018 film ’96). But that girl was in love with SRK. It has taken these many years to have my revenge,' he said.

Shah Rukh responded to Vijay's statement in his witty style and said that everyone spoke in Tamil and they all spoke good things about him, except Vijay who was talking about a girl.

SRK told Vijay that he could have his revenge but not the girls. 'They are mine,' he said.

'Everyone here spoke in Tamil and I am sure they all spoke good things about me. Except for Vijay Sethupathi, who was talking about a girl. Let me tell you one thing sir, you can have your revenge but not my girls. They are mine,' he said.

During the event, Atlee also shared a memorable story about SRK. He recalled how he took a photograph outside SRK’s Mumbai residence Mannat 13 years ago.

Atlee said, 'I will tell you a story. When I was working with director Shankar for Enthiran in Mumbai. I was told by my friend that we are shooting outside SRK’s house. He asked me to pose in front of the gate for a pic. After 13 years, the same gate opened and King Khan himself went, ‘Welcome, Atlee sir’.'

Apart from SRK, 'Jawan' also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles.

The movie is scheduled to be released on September 7.
