Actor Deepika Padukone is overjoyed as her recently released movie ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film, which also stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, has grossed over Rs 900 crore globally within 12 days of its release.
Amid its success, Deepika shared a video of Ranveer giving his review of her movie.
In the clip, Ranveer reviews Deepika’s character, saying, ‘It’s really trippy to see a movie where her character is pregnant and she is pregnant. It’s like... ‘What’s happening?’’
The next frame shows Deepika expressing her delight at the positive reviews, saying, ‘I don’t know what to feel; I am just a bit overwhelmed with the reaction. The real review will come now when we go home.’
The video also features several movie-goers who praised the film. Some described Nag Ashwin's movie as ‘Amazing’ and ‘Too good,’ while others eagerly await its sequel.
Recently, Saswata Chatterjee recalled filming the climax of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ with Deepika, with Ranveer present on set.
Speaking to News18 Showsha from Bangladesh, Saswata remembered shooting the scene where his character Manas, amid an invasion of Shambhala, drags Deepika's pregnant Sumathi by her hair. He mentioned that Ranveer, dressed in all-orange, brought positive energy to the set, always moving around energetically. Despite the physical demands of the scene, Saswata reassured Ranveer about using a body double for tougher shots, to which Ranveer responded graciously.
He said, ‘Deepika is just ever-smiling. There is a scene in the film where I drag her by the hair. It was part of the last leg of the shoot and was shot in Mumbai because Deepika was pregnant by then. Ranveer came on set wearing an ensemble that was orange from top to bottom – tee, pants and shoes! He radiates such an infectious positive energy – he just can’t stand in one place! There was a lot of physical tussle in the scene, so I told Ranveer, ‘Don’t worry, for more physically challenging scenes, there’s a body double.’ He was so polite and humble. He smiled and said, ‘I know, Dada.’’
