‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is expected to show growth this weekend. With no competition in the Telugu industry and only facing Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s ‘Kill’ in Hindi, the film is likely to attract audiences.
The Nag Ashwin film draws heavily from the Mahabharat. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people: a pregnant woman named Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be carrying the 10th avatar of Vishnu; the immortal Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), tasked with protecting the unborn child; a ruthless villain named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), who wants the child dead, knowing it will be his end; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter willing to sell anyone for money.
