Kangana Ranaut expressed solidarity with Raveena Tandon after an attack in Mumbai. She called the incident ‘absolutely alarming’ and condemned ‘road rage outbursts,’ demanding action against the perpetrators.
Kangana Ranaut wrote, ‘What happened to Raveena Tandon ji is absolutely alarming; had there been 5-6 more people in the opposite group, she would have been lynched; we condemn such road rage outbursts; those people must be reprimanded. They must not get away with such violent and poisonous behaviour.’
According to a Mumbai Police official cited by news agency PTI, investigations revealed that Raveena Tandon's car did not collide with anyone. A video on social media had alleged that Raveena's driver hit a man's mother and that Raveena then assaulted her.
The incident was said to have occurred near the actor's house while the man was walking with his mother, sister, and niece. However, CCTV footage from the area showed that while the women were close to Raveena's car, they were not hit. The video depicted a group accusing Raveena and her driver of assaulting three women.
The incident occurred on Carter Road in Bandra on Saturday night, according to the police. Although no FIR has been filed, a station diary entry has been recorded at the Khar police station, the official stated.
After Raveena exited her vehicle to address the crowd, she was allegedly pushed and struck, he stated. According to the man in the video, the actress appeared to be drunk and began assaulting the woman after getting out of the car.
Following the incident, a group of individuals confronted Raveena and her driver inside a building on Carter Road. The altercation occurred after the driver reversed the car, the official explained. The viral video depicts a woman alleging that Raveena and her driver attacked her, causing her nose to bleed.
Subsequently, both parties visited the Khar police station and provided written statements stating that they had no complaints against each other, the official added.
