Kabir Khan’s film ‘Chandu Champion’, starring Kartik Aaryan, has been receiving positive reviews from the audience and critics alike. Former cricketer Kapil Dev, whose career inspired Kabir’s previous film ‘83’, has praised the movie, calling it ‘spectacular.’
Taking to social media, Kapil wrote, ‘Chandu champion! Definitely a film you cannot miss. I really enjoy watching and appreciate sport films. But this goes beyond being just a sports film. After four days in theaters, "Chandu Champion" has grossed Rs 26.5 crore at the box office. The film's opening day collections were Rs 4.75 crore, with its highest earnings on the first Sunday, totalling Rs 9.75 crore.
‘Chandu Champion’ is a collaborative production between Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan. The film portrays the remarkable life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist in freestyle swimming. Kartik Aaryan portrays the titular character, depicting various stages of his multifaceted life, including his roles as an Indian Army soldier, wrestler, boxer, 1965 war veteran, and swimmer. The film also features Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, and Rajpal Yadav in significant roles.
