A day after reports of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri starring in ‘Dhadak 2’ surfaced online, filmmaker Karan Johar took to his Instagram story and clarified that his production company Dharma Productions is not making the film.
Karan wrote, ‘To put this on the record and for all concerned we (Dharma Productions) are NOT making a film with the title DHADAK 2 as is being reported in various articles...’
A Pinkvilla report claimed that Karan is all set to make ‘Dhadak’ sequel and it will be directed by debutant director Shazia Iqbal. The report also stated that Siddhant and Tripti were excited to feature in the ‘raw and intense love story’.
‘Dhadak’, which was released in 2018, starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter.
Karan Johar is currently awaiting the release of his directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra. The film will release in theatres on July 28.
