It was long rumoured that Kartik Aaryan was in a relationship with his ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ co-star Sara Ali Khan. Filmmaker Karan Johar recently spilled the beans on their relationship during his talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’ and confirmed that the duo dated while filming the Imtiaz Ali-directorial.

Now, Kartik Aaryan has opened up about his relationship status and shared that he has been single for over a year. He, however, did not give any information on his past relationship.

In an interview with Film Companion, the actor was told that his previous statements about his love life seem to be untrue in the wake of the chit-chat on ‘Koffee With Karan,' to this the actor replied, ‘Mai pichle sava saal se single hoon, baaki mujhe kuch nahi pataa (I have been single since the past 1.25 years, I don't know about anything else).’

When told that 1.25 years is a very specific timeline, Kartik had no response and he immediately change his statement and said he has been single for the past 1 year. He further clarified that he’s not reducing the time period slowly...it just was not precise.

When asked if he will still pursue saying that his work is his relationship, Kartik said, ‘No it's not like that. But I am single. That's about it.’

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan last featured in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, which was a massive hit. His upcoming projects include, ‘Captain India’, ‘Shehzada’ and ‘Freddy’ among others.
