2024 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year for horror comedies, with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’ leading the pack as the highest-grossing film of the year.
Following closely is Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, which has quickly made its mark as one of Bollywood’s top earners this year.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film has surpassed the ₹100 crore milestone in its opening weekend.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 grossed ₹33.5 crores on November 3, bringing its total to an impressive ₹106 crores.
It opened with ₹35.5 crores on November 1 and brought in ₹37 crores on November 2. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 now stands as the third-highest opener of 2024, trailing behind Stree 2’s ₹55.40 crores and Singham Again’s ₹43.70 crores. The film also made a strong international showing, raking in ₹55.30 crores globally on its first day.
Despite being part of a successful franchise, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 experienced a slow start due to limited screen availability compared to Singham Again. However, late-night showings at 1 am and 3 am in various cities have boosted its performance, resulting in an overall occupancy rate of 67.27 percent on November 3, with the evening shows drawing the largest crowds.
In a delightful surprise for fans, Kartik Aaryan made an appearance at the Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Mumbai on Sunday. Dressed in a stylish checkered shirt, he stood atop his car holding a ‘Housefull’ sign, flashing a big smile while interacting with excited fans and taking selfies.
The actor also shared his excitement on social media. He wrote, ‘H O U S E F U L L boards everywhere. I wanted to take it home as a souvenir but they said they need it again tomorrow.’
The film features a stellar cast, including Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri, and marks the third installment in the popular Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, which began with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in 2007.
