Actor Katrina Kaif, who is preparing for the release of her forthcoming film ‘Merry Christmas’, attended a promotional event in Mumbai on January 4. When a reporter labelled her as ‘just a glamour doll’ referring to her role in ‘Tiger 3’, she gracefully defended her character in the Salman Khan starrer.

Addressing the press, Katrina said, ‘I see things a little different perhaps. I actually think the character of Zoya is one of the strongest characters I’ve ever had the chance to play. Especially in Tiger 3, it was so nuanced and so well-written by Maneesh Sharma. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to play that character.’

Katrina Kaif returned as ISI spy Zoya in ‘Tiger 3’ alongside Salman Khan. Her performance received mixed reviews but earned praise. The movie has been a major success, grossing Rs 466.63 crore globally, ranking fifth among the top-grossing Hindi films in 2023.

About ‘Merry Christmas’

The Sriram Raghavan directorial’s intriguing trailer has heightened fans' excitement. The movie also stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role.

Speaking about working with Vijay, Katrina said, ‘I was really excited to be working with Sriram sir and Vijay. The moment we got together in a room, I think everyone came just as themselves and we were instantly able to connect. The minute Vijay sir started speaking about a scene, it was fascinating for me, I just thought that he is the person who views things in such a unique way; it’s the way he sees stories, the way he sees people.’

Katrina’s personal front

Katrina recently returned home after her New Year vacation in Rajasthan with her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal. She has shared a sneak peek of her trip with her fans on Instagram.
