Actor Katrina Kaif’s video of speaking fluently in French has gone viral on social media.

In the deepfake video, Katrina discusses Bina's 'incredible book' in French. The caption includes a disclaimer clarifying that while Katrina and Salman attended the book launch of Silent Sentinels of Ranthambhore by Bina Kak, the French voiceover is AI-generated, but the speech remains unchanged from her original speech.

‘Both Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan attended the book launch of Silent Sentinels of Ranthambhore by Bina Kak. Salman and Katrina are very close to her from their Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya movie. She played Salman's mother in that movie. Disclaimer: The French voiceover is AI-generated but the speech hasn't been morphed or twisted, it is the exact the same as her original speech,’ the post’s caption read.

Katrina attended the launch of Bina Kak's book ‘Silent Sentinels of Ranthambore’ in Mumbai in 2017, accompanied by Salman Khan and his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan.

Fans react to deepfake video

Katrina's fans shared mixed reactions in the comments. Some found the deepfake unsettling, with one remarking on the advancement of AI. Others almost fell for the edited video. However, some believed the video to be genuine, praising Katrina's talent and beauty.

One person commented, ‘God, the deepfakes are getting scarryyyyyyyy.’ Another added, ‘AI (Artificial intelligence) at its best.’ Another said, ‘I almost fell for this edited video.’

Others who fell for the AI-generated video commented, ‘She's so supremely talented unlike any other actresses!’
