‘King' update: Music composer Anirudh roped in for Shah Rukh Khan- Suhana Khan starrer, deets inside

A blockbuster is in the making. Shah Rukh Khan will share the screen with Suhana Khan in ‘King’, which will also mark her big screen debut and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make the film an unprecedented cinematic experience. In a big update, SRK starrer ‘Jawan’ music composer Anirudh is all set to get onboard 'King’. 

Anirudh reunites with ‘Jawan’ 

‘Jawan’ was one of the biggest hits of 2023 and its music also matched the film’s popularity. A Pinkvilla report quoted a source as saying, “King is a one of its kind action thrillers, that will introduce a new flavour of action to the audience. Shah Rukh Khan, Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh understand the importance of BGM for a film in this space and have roped in the best in business – Anirudh.” 

The report further suggests that the makers are looking to take the film on floors by August 2024.The film is reportedly in pre-production stage and action workshops are being held currently.  

More about ‘King’ 

The film is reportedly based on the Hollywood Classic, ‘Leon: The Professional’. Shah Rukh Khan will reportedly be seen playing a character of a don in the film while Suhana will reportedly play his disciple. It is being produced under SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix. The much-anticipated film, helmed by Sujoy Ghosh will hit the theatres in 2025. 

SRK and Suhana Khan’s work front 

Besides ‘King’, Shah Rukh Khan also has ‘Pathaan 2’ in the pipeline, which is expected to go on the floors by the end of 2024 and will later also feature in a ‘Tiger Vs Pathaan’ film. On the other hand, Suhana entered the world of acting with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ and will be marking her big-screen debut with ‘King’. The father-daughter duo are often spotted  supporting their team KKR in IPL matches.
