Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol graced the latest season of Karan Johar’s popular chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’. On the show. Sunny talked about the blockbuster success of ‘Gadar 2’, his comeback movie, and shared that he was ‘hurt’ by the box office clash with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’.

The actor told host Karan Johar that he called Akshay up to request that he move the release date of ‘OMG 2’, but Akshay said that it was out of his hands.

‘I haven’t had success for donkey's years. I didn’t want anybody to come along with it, but you can’t stop anybody. So obviously, it does hurt you. Then I was like, ‘it doesn’t matter let’s go along with it.’ But initially, when things were not working out for the longest time, I thought if nobody would release alongside your film then you would at least get theatres,’ Sunny said.

When asked if he had a chat with Akshay, Sunny revealed, ‘I asked him, ‘please don’t do it if it’s in your hands,’ but he said no, the studio, and all that… and they said that anyway two films can release, so I said, okay, go ahead. I can just request; I can’t do anything more than that.’

‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’, despite the box office clash, managed to stay afloat with tremendous results.

Sunny Deol starrer crossed the 500-crore mark at the box office, while Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘OMG 2’ went on to earn around Rs 140 crore.

On the show, Sunny Deol, who had a fallout with Shah Rukh Khan after Yash Chopra’s 1993 classic ‘Darr’, opened up about what he likes and dislikes about the star, his equation with step sisters Ahana and Esha Deol and what he doesn’t like about his contemporaries.
