After the debacle of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ at the box office, there were rumours of a fallout between Aamir Khan and director Advait Chandan. However, Advait has refuted any such claims on Instagram. The director shared a picture with Aamir in which they both are seen ready to ride some waves. The duo is happily posing for the camera, holding their surfing boards.
Sharing the picture, Advait wrote, ‘Guys, for all those talking about a fall out between Aamir sir and me, I just want to say that we are like Genie and Aladin, Baloo and Mowgli, Amar and Prem.’
Actor Mona Singh, who portrayed the role of Aamir’s mother in the film, commented with a lot of red heart emojis and wrote, ‘Always’.
‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, is the Bollywood remake of Academy Award-winning film, ‘Forrest Gump’, starring Tom Hanks. Ahead of its release, the film had faced boycott calls on social media over Aamir old statement on ‘growing intolerance’ in India.
After the Advait Chandan directorial bombed at the box office, a report in Midday claimed that Aamir and the director had a fall out, and they might not be working again despite Advait being associated with the actor’s production house for nearly 15 years.
Advait Chandan made his directorial debut with ‘Secret Superstar’ in which Aamir had an extended cameo. He also worked as an assistant production manager on Aamir’s 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and actor’s ex-wife Kiran Rao’s 2010 film ‘Dhobi Ghat’.
‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ recently premiered on Netflix, and it became the number one film in India and number two non-English film on the streaming platform globally.
