‘Laal Singh Chadha’, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, will release in theatres on August 11. Ahead of its release, a special screening was held for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) as the makers didn’t want to hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.
Post the screening of the film, Aamir said that he was touched with the reaction of the members of the SGPC.
The makers had showed the script of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ to SPGC members ahead of the shoot as they wanted to get every single detail right.
Aamir Khan portrays the role of a sardar in the film and previously, there have been several controversies related to the portrayal of a sardar in movies and web shows.
The Advait Chauhan directorial has already stirred controversy over Aamir’s 2015 statement on ‘growing intolerance’ in the country. A demand for the film’s boycott is currently trending on Twitter. The makers didn’t want to worsen the situation and are taking all necessary steps to avoid any dispute.
