Comedian Kapil Sharma and actors Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan have sought a week from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The trio was summoned by the central agency on October 6 in connection to the Mahadev betting app case.

Now, according to the News18 report, Kapil Sharma has informed ED about his shoot abroad due to which he will not be able to appear. Meanwhile, Huma and Hina have cited personal reasons.

Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor also summoned

Shraddha Kapoor was also summoned by the ED official, but she has not responded as of now. Ranbir Kapoor was also supposed to appear before the agency on October 6 but had sent a mail seeking a time of 1.5 weeks. His request has been accepted.

Ranbir’s first appearance post ED summon

Ranbir Kapoor was spotted outside a clinic in Mumbai on October 6 morning. As he walked towards the clinic, he asked paparazzi to stay out. ‘Andar mat aana (do not come inside),’ he said. The reason for Ranbir’s visit to the clinic is not known as of now.

What is the case about?

For the unversed, the Mahadev betting apps have different games, lotteries and betting options for everything under the sun, including the prediction of election results, weather, matches etc. These have been operational for the past four years. The online app, like other Ponzi schemes, targeted the lower-income group. The games, the lotteries and betting options were all rigged where the ‘players’ always lost money and the company gained.
