‘Mission Majnu’, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, will be released directly on Netflix on January 20, 2023. The makers of the film shared Sidharth’s first look from the film on social media on December 13. He can be seen in an intense look, dressed in a pathani suit with kohl-rimmed eyes and a gun in his hand. Sharing the poster they wrote, ‘Ek jaanbaaz agent ki ansuni kahaani (the unheard story of a brave agent). Mission Majnu only on Netflix, 20th January.’

Sidharth talked about his forthcoming espionage thriller in an interview with the news agency PTI, and said, ‘I'm quite excited about Mission Majnu since it will be my first time playing a spy. It shows India's most thrilling covert mission, which transformed the politics between India and its neighbouring nation in the 1970s. With Netflix on board, I am confident that this incredible narrative will resonate with people all around the world.’

Earlier, speaking with Hindustan Times, he said, ‘I’ve never looked at movies or movie business as something that’s about just a factory to churn out new movies and stories. I feel we’re all answerable to the business, to the creator and even our fans. While the intent needs to be to tell a special story, I find it difficult to just create special stories, multiple times. I have always tried to do different genres and entertain my audience with interesting films. Whether they turn out to be good or bad is up to the audience.’

Directed by Shantanu Bagchi and produced by RSVP and GBA, ‘Mission Majnu’ also stars Kumud Mishra, Parmeet Sethi, Sharib Hashmi, Mir Sarwar, and Zakir Hussain in pivotal roles. The film stars Sidharth as an Indian intelligence agent, who leads a covert operation on Pakistani soil.
