Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty was hospitalised today. According to reports, the actor has been taken to a private hospital in Kolkata where he is currently undergoing treatment. Mithun Chakraborty was recently conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award.
The veteran actor was hospitalised on Sunday after complaints of chest pain, reportedly. He was rushed to the Apollo hospital's emergency unit in Kolkata.
His elder son Mimoh Chakraborty told indianexpress.com, “He (Mithun Chakraborty) is 100 percent fine and it’s a routine checkup.”
Mithun Chakraborty, who has worked extensively in Bengali and Hindi film industries, was recently conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. The actor had shared a video expressing his gratitude after receiving the honour. The actor, in a video, said in Bengali, “I am proud, I am happy to have received this award. I would like to thank everyone. I have never asked anything for myself from anyone. I am experiencing the feeling of receiving something without asking today. It’s a different feeling altogether. It’s a great feeling.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Chakraborty was last seen in the Bengali film 'Kabuliwala'.
