Actor Mumtaz recently visited Pakistan and met her several fans in the neighbouring country. The yesteryear superstar was overwhelmed with the love received from the fans. While the actor shared glimpses of her Pakistan diaries, she also has a request about Pakistani artists.
Sharing the experience of her Pakistan visit, the actor praised the hospitality in Pakistan in a recent interview with Zoom. In the same interview, the actor also emphasised on the need to lift the ban on Pakistani artists. Mumtaz said, “They should be allowed to come and work here. They are talented. I agree we have no dearth of talent in the Mumbai film industry. Lekin unhe bhi mauka milna chahiye (But they should also get work opportunities in Bollywood)."
Mumtaz also shared pictures with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. She revealed that Fawad Khan had reserved an entire restaurant for her. And it wasn’t just Fawad. Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan also sang for the actor depite being unwell. Mumtaz had shared the pictures with the Pakistani artists on her Instagram. Sharing about how she felt very special during the visit, she said, “Woh log hum logon se bilkul alag nahin hain (They are no different from us). Everywhere that I went, people came forward to shower me and my sister with love and gifts. Ek kalakaar isse zyada aur kya chahta hai (What more can an artist ask for)? They knew all my films, all my songs.”
